I could say ... many things about you
each would be different
but all would be true.
You are always there
but I take you for granted.
Today you shocked me
with the splendour
of the gown your wore.
White velvet, ermine,
diamonds at my feet.
So still like a frozen image.
Not a balde of grass quivers.
Today you are aloof, stately
and I pay you my respects.
The beauty of a pure white snowy landscape in pictures and words.

An artists dream world ...
an intensely coloured sky... above fields of snow and black silhouettes of trees.
Snow overnight - I awoke to a world blanketed in snow - I knew that I had to grab the camera and get the photos before the traffic got onto the roads. I almost had the place to myself. It was so cold that I found it difficult to take the pictures... but determination got me the pictures I wanted. My hands and feet finally thawed out at breakfast time.

I enjoyed this too 2uesday. So pleased to see that someone else appreciates the beauty of snow. Around here snow is a four letter word. Oddly enough though this is Canada we have no snow at the moment. Scheduled to come again this week. i hope so. Like the imagery in your poem - gown, ermine. A great site.
Hi Donna, it is easy to like snow when it arrives once or twice a year and then goes in a couple of days. We are never prepared for this weather and somethings seems to grind to a halt. Thanks for reading and leaving a commment.

Thank you Joy - it is nice to be reminded of this beautiful morning walk when I took the photos. The world seemed transformed by the brightness of the snow that day. Sometimes I hit a creative 'glitch' and nothing comes along to inspire and then other times words just get sparked and flow; so my poems tend to arrive in batches or none at all. :) A bit like trains and the buses.
