Romantic Words. How to say something romantic in writing.

Romance. Saying something romantic is not always easy.

It can be especially difficult if you need to put those words into writing.

It is probably easier to tell someone how you feel when they are near you than writing it down.

When that is not possible to tell someone something romantic and you need to write it down- try to imagine what you would say to them if they were with you.  This can be the starting point for what you will say in your message.

If you cannot think of a suitable romantic message  for an occasion here are some starting points and ideas  for you.

Some you will like, some you may hate.... if none suit you then use them as inspiration for what you want to say... or quote a piece of poetry or words from a song.

The words that you write need to sincere and to suit the person that you are sending your romantic message to.

Whenever we say goodbye, I count the seconds until we meet again.

Another way of writing something as a message in a card is to think along the lines of why you love or care for the person you want to send the card to. just select the one/ones that suit the message you want to send in your greetings card.

Remember that by sending or giving someone a written card,note or letter describing the way that you feel about them in your words you have given them something special that they can keep. A text message or email however romantic cannot really be treasured in the same way as a good 'old fashioned style' written love letter or note.

Before you try this ask yourself - what you really want to say and what is stopping you from saying it.

If you do not know then try this old writer's trick to get words flowing -

Firstly find a comfy place to sit where you will not be disturbed while you are writing.

Remember to write whatever comes to mind in the time. The thoughts you write down in this time could be funny, they could be unsuitable to show the person, they could be stupid and only make sense to you - write them down anyway. It sounds harsh but just get on with it you only have 5 mins. to do this and you cannot fail because it is not a test it is a thought speeding up and ideas accessing process.

You need to be able to time yourself so that you stop writing after your five mins.

This time limit is what frees you to find the words that you really want to write.

If you come to a pause when you are writing, think about the person, picture them. What is it about them that makes you like them? Write it all down on the scrap paper.

You also need a piece of paper and a pen. Set yourself a time limit 3-5 mins. say.

Writing Your Romantic message. Brainstorming your writing.

Now

Grab your scrap piece of paper and the pen remember to time yourself on this or there wil be no sense of urgency to make you come up with ideas and to write.

• Start to 'brain storm' the ideas about what you want to say.The time limt is what frees you to find the message that you really want to write. If you come to a pause when you are writiing, think about the person, picture them. What is it about them that makes you like them/love them, why are they special,why are they special to you?
• Write it all down on the scrap paper.

Five mins later - stop .

OK - times up and you either a selection of ideas for what you will write or you have a blank piece of paper in front of you.

Maybe you screwed up the paper into a ball and threw it into the corner of the room. If so do not despair just yet. If none of the romantic wiords here are suitable,the solution could be to start looking at words in songs or in poems...two lines will be enough and the right quote could be the perfect one for you to write down.

If you have found something suitable to write from your brainstorming ideas - great you just need to write them on a suitable card.

On another piece of paper copy down the statements that you can see the promise of something romantic to say and forget or cross through the 'no go' statements.

Try to work through the good ideas you have and develop them into words and statements that you are happy with.
